Garlic size grading
A 5.5 cm lot is a calliper measurement, ±0.2 cm, not a marketing word.
Chinese export garlic is sold by bulb diameter. The ladder we pack to:
- Under 4.5 cm — processing and peeling
- 4.5–5.0 cm — retail bulk
- 5.0–5.5 cm — food service, the common importer grade
- 5.5–6.0 cm — super / supermarket display
- 6.0–6.5 cm+ — jumbo
Ask for the millimetre on the booking. A mixed dump labelled “5.5 up” is a different product.
