Indonesia is the volume market for Chinese fresh garlic. Buyers book cabinets, not supermarket bags.
China’s fresh-garlic export still leans on Southeast Asia. Indonesia is the cabinet market: importers take 40' reefers of Jinxiang white, sometimes mixed with purple, and re-pack locally.
What Jakarta usually books
Normal white 5.0–5.5 cm is the workhorse. Super 5.5–6.0 cm for nicer retail. Processing sizes if they peel. One or more reefers at a time, not a pallet of 1 kg bags.
Size and pack
- 10 kg and 20 kg mesh for re-packing
- 10 kg cartons when the importer sells through modern retail
- 3P/4P/5P small bags if they want shelf-ready
Reefer notes
Whole bulbs want a setpoint near −3 to 0 °C. Transit from Qingdao is shorter than a US West Coast sailing. Confirm the week, not a copied “40–60 days” line.

What is the usual order size?
Fresh garlic is usually sold by the 40-foot reefer, about 26–28 metric tons depending on pack. Peeled and black garlic can be smaller. Say the port and the pack.
Do you publish prices?
Each lot page shows a FOB China band. Garlic moves with crop year and size. CIF is quoted for a named port.
New crop or cold-store?
New crop runs roughly June to September. From September we ship from −3 °C store through the next May.
